Before I talk specifically about this past Sunday, I have to say I am repeatedly overwhelmed at the opportunity I’ve been given at Kings Valley to sing and worship with such incredibly talented musicians and singers. I love worshipping through music!! Seriously, what a privilege! And what a gift from God to be able to express ourselves through this art form. Life can be so difficult and chaotic and God has blessed us with the freedom to worship and find peace in His presence. I really don’t know what I would do without these times in my life when I feel lost in His presence or when God speaks to me through song.
So this past Sunday was great because my sister Jill was singing with us! I have missed singing with both of my sisters so very much. So to have Jill back up there was pretty cool. It was also awesome to have John leading with us! It has been amazing to watch him grow as a worship leader. John led I Adore You which is still kind of new but people seemed to be singing especially on the chorus. It is such a great song from Phil Wickham and Jesus Culture. It was nice to kind of step back and let John and Jill take that one.
For some reason there always seems to be one or two songs that speak to me more than the others. This Sunday it was Mighty To Save. We only did the chorus and the bridge. It ended up tying into Brent’s message so well which was cool too. The line about our Saviour being able to MOVE MOUNTAINS spoke volumes to me. I really believe that…if we pray and stay in the word, our God wants to move the mountains in our lives…no matter what they are! The trick is some mountains are a lot bigger than others. There are some things I have been praying about for a long time and because I can’t even come close to understanding God’s plan, discouragement quickly sets in. I HAVE to trust and stay faithful in prayer and reading the word. It also helps to look back at difficult times in my life when I know God has carried me. He is a faithful God and He CAN move mountains in our lives if we look to Him to be our refuge.
I love this blog! It’s gonna be a great tool for communicating and sharing our feelings on worship.
Peace
Kelly
