I Exalt Thee

This Sunday was incredible on a lot of levels.  One, it was just plain fun to be back playing/ leading in music with the crew.  It had been almost a month since I last led, and I was certainly missing it.  Another high was just the overall vibe in the room.  THE PLACE WAS PACKED.  There were 630 or so people there to worship, which was awesome.

In the service we had a great time of worship, a time to pay our respects to our veterans (who joined us for worship) and a great message on holiness from Pastor Mark.

The highlight for me was definitely the song “It is Well.”  Having lost my grandfather this past Tuesday, (who has been as involved in my life as the average father would be in the life of their son) I brought into the service a fair bit of grief and emotion.  I shared with people how through the grief and pain I (and my family) were experiencing, the presence of God, and the promise that God will make everything ok one day, keeps us going in the hard times.  I invited the hurting and broken people to really take into account God’s presence and promise.  The response to the song was powerful to say the least.

All in all, it was another great Sunday, that made me so thankful and SO proud for my church.
