Thanksgiving Sunday…I have to be honest and say when I initially chose the music, I did not realize it was Thanksgiving Sunday.  When I did realize it, I thought I would change the set.  I looked at it again and I felt a nudge from God telling me to leave it.  I have so many things in my life that I am thankful for.  I try to keep that spirit of thankfulness with me all the time.  I cherish the blessing of family, my husband, and my children.  However, the songs on Sunday captured what I am MOST thankful for…my personal relationship with the God from whom all good things come and through whom I have eternal hope.  We sang You Never Let Go which is one of my favorite songs.  I LOVE lifting that song up with all of my being.  When we are walking through life, there are days we can’t always feel God holding our hand.  But often when we look back, we can see how He WAS there, that He carried us.  He sends His word to comfort us and His people to love on us.  He truly does not let us go.  Desert Song echoes this sentiment for me too…it has the same tone for me that It Is Well has.  The whole point of the Christian walk is to keep the door open between us and God, whether I am in the “harvest” or whether “all that is within me feels dry”.  To take my feelings of gratitude and praise as well as feelings of frustration or disappointment to HIM.  He wants to carry us through the good and bad.

We also sang You’ll Come again to open the service.  This is a great song.  I hope it will be around for a while in our Sunday morning sets.

LOVE MY CHURCH…very thankful for that too. :)

Peace,

Kelly
