Better is One Day
Our God Saves
Revelation Song
It Is Well
I Exalt Thee
This Sunday was incredible on a lot of levels. One, it was just plain fun to be back playing/ leading in music with the crew. It had been almost a month since I last led, and I was certainly missing it. Another high was just the overall vibe in the room. THE PLACE WAS PACKED. There were 630 or so people there to worship, which was awesome.
In the service we had a great time of worship, a time to pay our respects to our veterans (who joined us for worship) and a great message on holiness from Pastor Mark.
The highlight for me was definitely the song “It is Well.” Having lost my grandfather this past Tuesday, (who has been as involved in my life as the average father would be in the life of their son) I brought into the service a fair bit of grief and emotion. I shared with people how through the grief and pain I (and my family) were experiencing, the presence of God, and the promise that God will make everything ok one day, keeps us going in the hard times. I invited the hurting and broken people to really take into account God’s presence and promise. The response to the song was powerful to say the least.
All in all, it was another great Sunday, that made me so thankful and SO proud for my church.

Set List:
Beautiful Jesus
Mighty To Save
Our God
Jesus Paid It All
It had been awhile since I had been on stage to lead the whole worship time by myself. So getting ready to lead, at the start, was getting pretty stressful and honestly pretty scary at moments. And that was really bothering my heart. I am stressing and worrying about leading our church in a time of worship to our God. And in those moments of quite a bit of nervousness and anxiety…God truly met me there and brought a HUGE sense of peace about the morning.
Starting of with Beautiful Jesus and Mighty To Save was incredible. Being able to be in front of our church when the church is worshipping is incredibly powerful. I was able to worship while watching hands being raised, eyes closed, singing out to the God that has delivered and saved so many hearts. I loved it. Especially on Mighty To Save. Our churchtook the song at the end and just sang it from the top of their lungs…and being able to hear that…was incredibly emotional and power. Our God is a good God and He is stirring in our hearts. We can’t ignore it. How can we hide it?
It was awesome to have Dylan on drums and my friend from Bethany Bible College, Aaron Cyr on guitar. Being able to worship together with younger musicians who are rising up inspires me so much. God is raising up hearts that are so on fire. I love dreaming and seeing what God is going to do in our hearts from generation to generation.
As this Sunday comes closer…let us not forget what God has done in our lives this week and what He will continue to do in our lives. Let us enter into a worship lifestyle where we are constantly living in complete worship in everything that we do. And then on Sunday it is just a continuing worship of what we have been doing all week. Let this not just be a Sunday morning thing in our hearts…Grace and Peace…

SET LIST
HOSANNA
OUR GOD SAVES
REVELATION SONG
TURN YOUR EYES
EVERYTHING
JESUS ALL FOR JESUS
The highlights for me this particular week seemed endless. First, the service started with an incredible video to the song of Awake O’Sleeper. It just seemed to have an impact right off the hop. Then Jill led Hosanna which completely blessed me! By the time we sang Our God Saves which was only our second song, it almost had the feel of the end of 4 or 5 worship songs. We were connected…all together as a church, one voice, connected to HIM. So Revelation Song and Turn Your Eyes just felt easy. These two songs really prepared our hearts for the message. Turn Your Eyes, Awake O’Sleeper, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty…all words to help us TUNE in to His great power. At the end of Brent’s message, we then sang Everything which is now one of my favorite worship tunes. It fit perfectly. It was just another great morning at KVWC that reinforced the hope I have in Jesus to do incredible works in our community and in the people we love.
Peace!

Thanksgiving Sunday…I have to be honest and say when I initially chose the music, I did not realize it was Thanksgiving Sunday. When I did realize it, I thought I would change the set. I looked at it again and I felt a nudge from God telling me to leave it. I have so many things in my life that I am thankful for. I try to keep that spirit of thankfulness with me all the time. I cherish the blessing of family, my husband, and my children. However, the songs on Sunday captured what I am MOST thankful for…my personal relationship with the God from whom all good things come and through whom I have eternal hope. We sang You Never Let Go which is one of my favorite songs. I LOVE lifting that song up with all of my being. When we are walking through life, there are days we can’t always feel God holding our hand. But often when we look back, we can see how He WAS there, that He carried us. He sends His word to comfort us and His people to love on us. He truly does not let us go. Desert Song echoes this sentiment for me too…it has the same tone for me that It Is Well has. The whole point of the Christian walk is to keep the door open between us and God, whether I am in the “harvest” or whether “all that is within me feels dry”. To take my feelings of gratitude and praise as well as feelings of frustration or disappointment to HIM. He wants to carry us through the good and bad.
We also sang You’ll Come again to open the service. This is a great song. I hope it will be around for a while in our Sunday morning sets.
LOVE MY CHURCH…very thankful for that too. :)
Peace,
Kelly

Jesus Paid it All
Last Sunday was just incredible, on so many levels. I don’t think I have put more time and effort into any one Sunday to date in my ministry. It’s not that this Sunday (as important as it may have been) was all that much more important than any other fall kickoff; it’s just that a bunch of things/projects culminated on this Sunday. For one, we have been working for the past few months to upgrade our sound-system. Without getting into too many details, I can say that it was a pretty involved process, and took a lot of time and energy to actually see come into fruition. So there was the effort on an audio level. Secondly, we changed the set over, building a new lower stage, and completely resetting and re-rigging all of our lighting gear… ALSO a big project. And lastly, going into this Sunday we have been working (literally for months) on re-branding, not just the series, but our entire church. So, on a human level, I don’t think I have arrived at a Sunday to date that represented more sweat, blood, creativity, energy, tears, whatever. I had a lot invested in this Sunday.
It was in a pre-service prayer time that God spoke to me regarding all that was surrounding the morning. I realized in that moment of prayer that if I didn’t release all that had been done to arrive at that place in time, over to God, then it would be all for not, and I would be not only limiting what God could do through it, but also setting myself up for either extreme pride (if the morning went “well”) or defensiveness (if everything got de-railed). So in prayer, we ALL prayed that God would take our limited, though sincere offering, and use it for His glory.
The coolest thing about this past Sunday is, that I feel God did what we asked HIm, and He took over the service. I know this because 1. The response was really amazing, and 2. The majority of the chatter after the service had little to nothing to do with how good the new sound system sounded, or how nice everything looked, or how smooth it was technically… People were talking about the spirit of the morning. That God stirred us up.
I pray for more Sunday’s like this one. That we can arrive on a Sunday morning, 100% confident that we have given all we could, and then hand over the reigns to God’s spirit for Him to do something amazing.

WOW.. So, this is SUPER late, but I figure better late than never. Honestly, this is the first chance I have had to really sit down and think about this service. So “today” was a big Sunday in the life of our church.
1. It marked the end of our summer series on the Sermon on the mount (which was an incredible series btw. Listen back on our website at www.kingsvalley.ca if you missed it)
2. It marked the beginning of our fall church season.
3. It was our annual ministry celebration and baptism Sunday which we have dubbed “the annual shareholder party.”
Here is what happened:
True Love (with loop)
Our God Saves
Hosanna (with loop)
Baptisms
Jesus all for Jesus
Sermon (woman at the well)
Baptisms
Jesus Paid it all
Did you feel the mountains Tremble
As you can see, it was a GREAT time of celebration. The Baptisms (14 of them) were SO powerful, and it was clear that our entire church community was completely amped by it. They were excited to be in church, excited to worship, and excited by what God is doing in and through us. By the time we got to Jesus paid it all, the feeling in the room was pretty intense, all were singing at the top of their lungs, declaring the simple, yet profound truth.
It was fun on a band level because a) I got to lead with the KJB guys, which was fun on a musical level to begin to work towards gelling etc… which I felt pretty good about. b. I think I can speak for all of us who were leading/playing that day, that it was a joy to be part of that morning, to be able to serve and worship that way. It was definitely special.
All in all, it was an INCREDIBLE day of worship with 560 of my closest friends. LOVED it. Pray for many, many more days like this to come.

SET LIST Glory Hungry You’re Beautiful Beautiful Exchange What an awesome day! It was just like the “old days” when you’d go home after church, have lunch or a big Sunday dinner and come right back. I loved seeing the congregation respond so well to songs that are now in our regular rotation like You’re Beautiful. When folks know the tune well, they can enter into the truth of the song in such a powerful way. We also got to do Beautiful Exchange…what an amazing song! It was great to play this for the first time in the morning service and then to be able to carry the emotion of the lyrics into the evening by playing it again at SNT. I echo John’s enthusiasm in his post about SNT. We had many “Thirsty” services last year and SNT is picking up right where Thirsty left off. It is special to be able to LINGER in His presence. Waiting on the Holy Spirit to speak to us is something that we need in our corporate worship experiences as a church. I feel like it gives God an open door into our hearts and minds…a time when He can reveal Himself to us. SNT will also be a great time for folks to pray and share where they are in their walk with God. It’s a place where you can feel comfortable enough to be real with God and others. I am so glad this will be a regular occurance at KVWC! Have a great week! Kelly

We had our first SNT (Sunday Night Thing)…whatever you want to call it…worship night for the first time this year and I felt like we truly met with our God. It was one of those worship times where as the worship leader, I forgot I was even on the stage. I might as well have been in the crowd worshipping with everyone as one body, one offering of praise and love to the God that fills our hearts with an excitement to pour ourselves out to him. This was a night where as a group of followers, we were starting to open ourselves completely to what God wanted and continues to want to do. We sang the song From the Inside Out, and that song is a prayer from our soul crying out for the love and grace and hope of our God. And I know for me, I needed to sing that song. I needed a declaration that even when things aren’t perfect, when I feel inadequate, when everything…EVERYTHING…may be torn to shreds around me, my soul is going to cry that God, Your light is going to shine when everything else is dark, Your glory goes beyond anything in this world. And then to follow that song with Came To My Rescue was perfect. This is was night where my heart connected with our Savior in a way that totally went beyond anything I could have created or chased after. God gave hope to my heart when I definitely needed it.
I am so excited for these nights to continue this year…and for as long as God puts it in our hearts to do it. I encourage you to open up, let our Creator rip your heart open and pour a new life, a new passion, a new desire, to worship Him with absolutely everything you have. No matter what it looks like to the world or people around you. Our God is worthy to be praised with everything we have, all our strength, whether we are at a Sunday night worship time, Sunday morning service, walking down the street or pacing our house at night because we CANNOT get over the troubles taking over our heart. God is worthy to be praised with everything we are.
“from the inside out Lord my soul cries out”
